Is this all there is?
I want you to know that it’s okay to feel a bit lost right now. Maybe you even feel a hint of emptiness or downright broken some days.
You’re locked in this routine of going to work, coming home, perhaps shuttling the kids to activities, trying to figure out what’s for dinner (maybe even grabbing something on the go), answering work emails, straightening up the house, sinking into the couch around 9:00 with a drink to zone out on television for a couple of hours before going to bed.
Then you get up and do the same thing the next day. And the next. Rinse and repeat.
Do you tell yourself the next morning through your brain fog that you’re going to take a break? Then when you’re in the moment, the only thing that sounds good is another drink?
You had a passion once. What was it?
Oh, you know what it is. It’s just that pursuing it means major change and probably risk. You shouldn’t do that according to others. Let’s play it safe instead. The security of a steady paycheck overrides the nagging urge to chase your dreams at this phase of life.
Besides, life is busy right now. There aren’t enough hours in the day.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
I know because I’ve been where you are now.
You don’t want to feel the emptiness, so you fill the void with alcohol, food, or general busy-ness.
You don’t know why you can’t seem to take the first step toward creating the life of your dreams other than “change is scary.”
Congratulations, you are a perfectly imperfect human!
You have so much self-doubt and you’re not even sure where that’s coming from.
I know what it’s like to feel as if you’re drowning in your past mistakes. I know how it feels as if there’s no path forward. That you’re stuck in the same routine and in a rut. What you do know is that you can’t seem to find the answers.
Whatever you are using to try to escape your life and delay making the changes you know you need to, I can show you a better way.
(Spoiler alert: the answers cannot be found at the bottom of a bottle or at the end of the latest Netflix series.)
The truth is, you can have everything you’ve wanted and more.
You don’t have to stop dreaming and learning and living because the only marker left for you at this phase of your humanity is retirement.
What if you could replace all of the areas in life that seem so disappointing, the areas you’re trying to numb away, with the thing that truly lights you up?
What would life look like then? How would that feel?
Worth looking forward to? Would you feel charged up and ready to start each day with anticipation and enthusiasm?
Yes, I thought so.
You will never be asked to give away your power. Quite the opposite, in fact.
